to eat the carbondioxide emissions we get from cars. Are trees really eating all the dirtyness? No, they are not. But they breath carbondioxide, where we humans breath oxygen. Oxygen and carbondioxide are going around naturally in the nature, if we don`t mix things too much.
What about all the dirtyness then? Well, we need vehicles that go with electricity: wind, sun, wave, bio energy. Trams, trains, buses, cars, metros, lifts (that go up the hill, like in Switzerland there are a lot of hills, many other places as well)
Waste
What about all the waste? well, they have produced already some paper material, that goes to sugar and water (natural things found in nature, goes fine), when you add water there. If all packages were such, we should keep them carefully out of water, but we wouldn`t have such a waste problem!
Water
What about the water? Yes, it is still a problem. Actually I recommend, that we build a water line, not a gas line. A water line, that distributes the clean water equally to all places needed. Doesn`t it harm and change the balance that we have now in places that have enough clean water? Good question. I think that the whole water balance in the world is crucial, local and some changes there are smaller problem. I think it harms even more, when we build the gas line, and we change a really huge amount of dangerous gas, and its burning products (it still has some, even it is environmentally healthier than coal), probably straight to the air without thinking at all.
Crimes
What about guns and crimes and such problems? Well, we really need to make sure, that every one understands, that we want friends, peace, co-operation, support and help the ones that need it. All persons need homes, and people around them, who care at least a bit. Like ties my shoes? A bit like that. And we have to work all of us. We all can do a bit and help a bit. Not so that some of us work until they are in big troubles.
Food
What about the food problem then? Well, we must make sure, that such companies as Montago, or whatever it was, cannot be found. Companies that in the long run make more harm to the environment (contamination, only one sort of corn) and people (obligation to buy one product and one fertilizers to it). So that sort of global environmental laws, that cover also work life.
Homeless
What about the ones, who really don`t have flats? Well, we have to give the such. All the price down. Many people are trying to gain money by putting prices high as possible. But in the long run that only causes harm. Just calculate all the things that a flat needs: water, waste, electricity, and there you calculate more what you need.
Is the land rented or owned? makes some difference too. Land owners could think a bit too, do they really need all the rent money so, that people have to leave their homes.
But not all places have water or waste or electricity, that is true too. So is there a place, where you get clean water? Extremely important. Where do you put our waste water? That matters a lot, you cannot put it just anywhere, or your other waste. Are there dry toilets, or some garden, where you can make mould (earth) of the ruined vegetables and such? Other waste? Are there street lights, if you need light? Enough blankets or other things, if there is no warming? If you have to make fire inside, you must have some system, otherwise you get killed with carbon monoxide, that fire is producing.
Is there a place to grow some plants? Can you work somewhere to get money for food?
Where to get medicine, if you get ill? Vaccination. Is there any health center around? Does it cost, or is it communal?
Work
So what are the things the world needs, and who we can educate to meet the need? And where do we have already them who can do that?

Why this post? Because Jenna helps Obama. His ideas and aims are good, US just needs to work a bit more for the help for all of its citizens

maybe animals and children too, more to cities, that`s what they say belong together, nice to spend time in a park, hopefully with no fear

Yes, to the best of my understanding “dirt” hasn’t got so much to do with the greenhouse gases, so the dirt problem and the greenhouse effect problem are separate problems, I think. Or, depends on what you mean by dirt, of course. I would imagine that not all pollution contributes to greenhouse effect, or whatever it is called nowadays.
Water-, food- and crime- and homeless- problems are probably problems that would be related to dramatic climate changes, if they come, as has been forecasted. Providing food for everyone will really be a problem, as will providing shelter from storm, clean, fresh water, and prevention of crime.
Maybe infrastructure for distributing clean water really should be built in advance? I don’t know. Synthetic food is possible, too, I read recently. Made of fungus, or something like that. Maybe there are lots of jobs in making that. Lets hope so. Maybe there will be a little less jobs in fishing, and stuff like that. The weight of some of the fish drops, I hear.
“Quorn is the leading brand of mycoprotein food product in the UK.” writes Wikipedia about something called Quorn. It is supposed to be a synthetic food product. Oh well.

No no, we have these problems already. There are refugees from Northern (or more south) African countries in Spain, in Italy. Wanting to come more and more. Living under bridges. Living in their own societies, where they don`t understand the local language.
There are also homeless in USA, Asia, anywhere. In Asia, Africa and Latin America, they are called slums, where they live. Sometimes a slum has to move, when the land owner decides to do something about his country, or just like that decides, that they have to leave.

Well, yes, very good point, indeed.

Crimes I am rather worried about still. Why people are not able to put their anger to something, that does not harm? Maybe their idea is to harm, maybe they are so angry, they want to show that things are wrong, they cannot go on like this, can it be so? Still sounds too destructive way. And to do a crime, you have to be quite healthy, if you are very very sick, you really cannot do, nor good or anything bad.
Maybe many need attention, they are missing many crucial things in life, I guess.

I remember still a moment, when others are running above you, in one place or another. Market forces are driving to this direction too. “more for me, get your own, if you have money”, then smallers are in too narrow space soon. can it be so, that rich are getting richer and poor poorer. I try to be careful, that I don`t move too much to any direction in that sense and meaning.
July 22, 2009 at 2:05 pm |
Yeah. Don’t.
Crimes of past caretkers, perhaps, in a sense, that so many need more of the crucial things in life. Children should be taken really good care of, when they are little. Damn. Market forces don’t make that any easier.
Painful issues.
I guess in a sense, if you don’t have a job and family and friends, you are not recognized by your community to the extent that you could be. Because those include identities or roles, too, and with them comes recogniion. So there is, indeed, in a sense actual, prevailing shortage of recognition there, then. And it is based on social circumstances, not indivdual.
But the little ones can be really badly hurt sometimes, too. So bad, that even with jobs and families and everything as adults they still crave for more recognition. That’s really tough, I think. The other tough is just so-and-so tough (you know, if you don’t have a job, but you feel secure).
Well, I don’t know. I sometimes write a bit silly stuff. I may have mentioned this before.

That`s fine, we all are here to learn, and also to get to know others, funny things in them and the others more serious, sometimes also maybe idealistic stuff.
Maybe we should differ here cases:
small one getting pushed -> needs support and guidance from professionals, adults, friends, teachers
small one getting pushed in work life -> needs support and guidance as well, may not always get it. work life not in good order so that people would have skills, energy and time to help
July 22, 2009 at 2:37 pm |
Yeah. But I mean there is also the case, in which the small one, who has been pushed, when small, grows up without much guidance, and is then also pushed in work life. Far more vulnerable than all the others s/he is.
July 22, 2009 at 2:53 pm |
yes, exactly. if we don`t solve problems, they are walking among us, until they are solved somehow

Trees help in controlling temperature of the environment. You have noticed that the place where there are trees, are much more cooler and hygienic for living. That’s why people prefer to spend their life in regions which are away from concrete jungle of cities Like New York, New Delhi, Tokyo, Mumbai, London, Cairo and all other big cities.
December 5, 2009 at 8:11 am |
yea, but we here are not living there. here there are bigger trees in bigger cities as well.
maybe our cities are not that big, but I don`t see a difference, I see only a scale, and you have to create the city environment according to the size, but maybe some planners have forgotten about it.

Thaat’s right. Maybe they draw water from the ground, and when it evaporates, some heat goes away in the process? Like sweat on the skin cools the skin down when it evaporates. I don’t know.
Maybe they slow down the winds, too. Because they draw strength away from it. Maybe they also influence the flow of air currents. Because there is more ‘friction’ in trees for air than there is in concrete, so the air probably flows differently. And if it flows differently on the ground, that probably means that it also flows slightly differently in the upper layers. So many trees bring about major changes in the airflow patterns, for better or worse.
(According to the ‘butterfly effect’ even one tree in the right place could bring about major changes in the airflow patterns.)
Of course trees also give shadow and shelter from the sun for the peole. That has to be the most important reason that trees cool down cities.

That scale-idea sounds really interesting. Same pattern repeated on different scales on the level of city planning, while at the same time sort of like same one scale for other things?
I mean on the level of city planning Copenhagen and Buenos Aires are built by reiterating (?) similar patterns over and over again on different scales. I think this is what you meant?
It’s a lovely idea.
Sorry if I’m behaving like a smartass. Well, I sometimes am.
